We are excited to announce that Bowen Physiotherapy is now delivering regular weekly physiotherapy services to Collinsville and the surrounding community — every Thursday, all day, at the Collinsville Pharmacy.
This is a significant milestone for the region. For the first time, Collinsville residents have access to consistent, local physiotherapy — without the cost, time, and burden of travelling more than an hour each way to Bowen.

Same Fees — No Extra Travel Costs
Services at our Collinsville clinic are available at exactly the same rates as our Bowen clinic. There are no additional travel fees, outreach surcharges, or hidden costs.

Why This Matters
Physiotherapy is not a luxury. The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) has formally declared it a critical and essential service for all Australians.
Yet the reality for regional communities is stark:
- The physiotherapy workforce ratio drops from 2.6 per 10,000 people in capital cities to just 0.6 in very remote areas — meaning rural Australians have less than a quarter of the physiotherapy access of city residents
- Approximately 80% of physiotherapists in Australia work in major cities, leaving regional and remote communities significantly underserviced
- Collinsville, with a population of over 3,000 people, previously had zero private physiotherapy services
Every resident who sustained a musculoskeletal injury — a sprain, a back problem, a shoulder issue — had to travel more than an hour each way to access care, or go without it entirely.
We know this because we were already seeing Collinsville patients at our Bowen clinic. The demand is real. The gap is real. And now, we’re doing something about it.
Our Long-Term Commitment
Our weekly Thursday service is just the beginning. Our long-term goal is to establish a permanent, sustainable physiotherapy presence in Collinsville — growing from one day per week to three days per week as the community’s needs and referral base develop.
Research consistently shows that sustainable allied health delivery in regional communities depends on consistent, regular, long-term commitment — not one-off visits.
