What to expect during your First Visit to our clinic

At your first visit to see a Physiotherapist, you will be welcomed to the clinic by our friendly staff and asked to fill out our new patient intake forms (if you haven’t already filled out the online form). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete these forms.

When you are taken through to the treatment room by your Physiotherapist they will gather your a thorough health and background history, for example; history of your presenting condition, past medical history, family history, occupational, dietary and exercise habits, and previous care received. You will undergo a complete examination including an orthopedic assessment, postural assessment, and neurological assessment (if applicable). This allows us to make an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan.

Where possible, treatment will take place on the initial visit, however in certain circumstances we must acquire your x-ray, ultrasound or other medical tests before starting a treatment program.

Safety always comes first. Following your assessment your physiotherapist will give you advice on ways to manage your injury/condition. For example, what activities to avoid and which will benefit you. Your physiotherapist will especially assist you methods to manage any pain.
